A New Year start
As we step into the New Year, it’s the perfect time to set fresh intentions—like sharing the captivating energy of my paintings, including Wisps a Dancing, with a wider audience through art shows and gallery events. Last year at this time I was experimenting with paint recipes and small scale tests. This year is the time to start working towards larger works. Wisps a Dancing is my largest work so far.
*Wisps a Dancing* flutters onto the canvas like a quiet breeze caught mid-twirl, inviting you into a world where paint flows with the grace of petals caught in a gentle gust. Spread across its surface, fluid acrylics weave a composition that feels both lively and serene—the kind of visual poetry that whispers rather than shouts.
The heart of this piece is a swirling embrace of grays and muted blues, twisting and turning like an abstract bloom just beginning to unfurl. These soft, marbled waves ripple outward in delicate, petal-like forms, their movement effortlessly captured by smooth blends and subtle transitions. Here and there, shy streaks of soft pink and just-a-splash-of-orange peek through, offering warmth without overwhelming the cool quietude. Together, these hues dance with precision and ease, creating a balance of energy and calm.
Set against a deep, contrasting background, the painting’s fluid shapes seem to pulse with subtle life, exuding an organic elegance that feels both natural and gently otherworldly. It’s an artwork that captures a moment of transformation—like watching the quiet beginnings of a bloom or tracing the trails of a slow-moving current.
What makes *Wisps a Dancing* especially intriguing is how it invites the eye on a meandering journey, encouraging you to lose yourself in its layered intricacies and harmonious flow. The marbled textures add a tactile sense of depth, while the color interplay tempers motion with tranquility. This blend of movement and stillness offers a contemplative pause, a space where energy and softness coexist, poised in delicate equilibrium.
Whether displayed in a cozy reading nook or a spacious living area, *Wisps a Dancing* lends an air of thoughtful elegance and gentle vitality. As I embrace this New Year's resolution to bring my work into new art show and gallery spaces, I’m excited to share this subtle companion—a quiet dance of color and form—that might just add a whisper of magic to your collection.
