Chasing Lacing, a 24 by 30-inch gallery wrapped canvas, fluid acrylic paint piece that explores the dynamic beauty found in motion and contrast. This artwork emerged from my ongoing fascination with fluid interfaces and how flows can transform colors and forms in unpredictable yet harmonious ways.
In Chasing Lacing, you’ll notice a captivating dance between monochrome and bursts of vibrant color. The central area of the painting plays with an intricate web of black, white, and varying grays, creating a textured, layered effect that draws you into a sense of depth and subtle movement. It’s almost like looking at flowing water or the delicate patterns of geological formations—organic and ever-changing.

What really brings energy to this piece is the vertical band on the right side, where warm hues of yellow, orange, and a touch of red break the monochromatic calm. This strip injects warmth and vitality, acting as a striking counterpoint to the softer greys and blacks. If you look closely, you’ll also spot hints of purple and blue above the colorful band, blending gently into the web-like texture to deepen the composition’s complexity.
